I found the course and day to be a very fun one. The instructor was very professional, very informative, very funny, and we all enjoyed his company. The group was small, but everybody was equally interested, and at the end of the day we got good shots.

Russo was extremely professional. He presented the Miksang approach to photography very convincingly and used archived photos, charts and spontaneous compositions to back it up. Besides having a winning personality, Russo has a broad knowledge of photography and passed along great tips regarding the business and commercial side of the craft.

Russo was great! I came with no knowledge of how to use the Nikon 5200 camera I was gifted, and he took his time to help me and the group break down how each of our cameras worked and the results it could achieve. We did 4 different kinds of exercises, sending us off into Lake Balboa on a gorgeous day to practice it, and then we all looked and evaluated each others pictures. He recapped everything at the end so I could take down the info in my book. We all were interested in another class in the San Fernando Valley.

This image is a Still Life Composition of "Berries, Wine and Grapes" that I created on a rainy day in my bedroom. I used no fancy Studio Lighting at all. My only light source was a hand-held flashlight that I kept moving rapidly. It was an experiment in Light Painting when I couldn't go outside to shoot.
